The Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek—known for his sustainable furniture made from reclaimed wood, iron, and steel—has designed a limited-edition box for Ruinart’s Blanc de Blancs. Each signed and numbered box of recycled pine houses a bottle of the Champagne and is priced at $130. Made by hand in Eek’s Geldrop, Holland, workshop, the crates are lightly sanded and thinly lacquered to add texture and visual dimension, making them worth keeping even after the bottles’ corks have been popped.

Excelaire Expands Its Charter Fleet

The jet-charter carrier Excelaire, based in Ronkonkoma, N.Y., has expanded its fleet with a Bombardier Global 6000 and a Cessna Citation CJ3. The ultralong-range Global 6000 can travel 6,000 miles without refueling and accommodates as many as 16 passengers. Its cabin includes Wi-Fi Internet access and seven seats that can be converted into flat beds.
